Football Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match victorious run was ended by Sunderland before the international break, but can the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football games over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday football side," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's sole on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was still that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

My son told me to get Bees forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

This is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

They have got plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

However I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home form, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
