Salah Extends Statement to Squad, Says Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Mohamed Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad following the controversy from his public comments.

Salah was left out from a vital match following voicing frustrations and claiming his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”

The head coach has refused to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.

Moving Forward

The player stated that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.

Jones also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “I get that there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”

The team's performance have been impressive in the games following the initial controversy. The player is convinced the outburst were not intended to harm the team.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, getting results and starting to win games.”
