Shoaib Bashir Makes Unexpected Selection in English Test Series Squad

The English team has chosen a twelve-player squad just two days ahead of the first Ashes Test, with the 22-year-old spinner earning a surprise spot.

Bashir's inclusion indicates that the visiting team will wait until the morning of the initial match to decide whether Perth Stadium pitch favor four seamers or the addition of a spin bowler.

Jofra Archer and Mark Wood are part of the selected group, showing there are no concerns about their fast bowler's fitness.

Gus Atkinson and Brydon Carse round out the attack, with the latter most likely to miss out if Bashir makes the starting XI.
