Starting Lineup

The goalkeeper Not a save to make in the first half before forced to intervene by an opponent's bent shot. His sliding intervention against Qazim Laci showed sharp reading of the game. 6/10

The debutant Challenged against the opposition's primary attacker through their forward. Operated in a central role early on but moved out wide once Saka entered the fray. 7

John Stones Pushed forward with the ball at his feet, as he has done in the past. Sometimes was too casual on the ball and the tactic discontinued at half-time. 6/10

Dan Burn Always dangerous at set pieces, per usual, but may be a replacement to Stones in defense as opposed to his partner. A careless distribution after the break almost led to an opener for Albania. Six

Nico O’Reilly A further assured showing from the youngster after his debut against another side. Saka failed to make the opportunity from an exquisite flick over the Albania defence. His position is his to lose already. 7/10

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning in an England shirt. Somewhat loose on the ball however his inswinging set-pieces were a threat. An effective pace-controller for the coach to utilize against defensive opponents. Shown a yellow after a reckless challenge. Six

The midfielder Crosses on corner kicks and free kicks caused problems. Enjoyed room to drift down the left flank only to be offside as the pass came in shooting positions. Granted a well-earned rest on the hour mark. Six

Jude Bellingham Played in a high role on the right while also did plenty of defensive duties. Demonstrated flashes of quality and scuffed a shot high. Substituted towards the end by Rogers, a fellow player, following a yellow card. 7

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with the team's top opening of the first half, his strike well saved by the opposing goalkeeper. With a teammate holding position, he had to stretch the play on the right although his balls from the touchline varied in quality. Replaced late in the match. Six

The captain The match-winner scoring 77th and 78th goals at international level. The opener a trademark close-range tap-in and the second a superb headed goal following a clever run off his defender. At 32, his form is unwavering with the national team stand a real opportunity next summer when he's in the team. 8

The attacker Struggled to influence play from the left. Was presented with a decent opportunity following a pass by Bellingham however the keeper kept it out. Rashford made much more of influence in his place. 5
