Arsenal forward Viktor Gyokeres has been omitted from Graham Potter's first Swedish national squad, whereas Liverpool striker Alexander Isak secured a place

The Arsenal forward is due to undergo further assessments this week following fears of a muscle problem in the Gunners's English top flight victory at the Clarets on Saturday

The 27-year-old was absent from Arsenal' European win versus Slavia Prague earlier this week

Isak Makes Comeback

The Liverpool striker, who hasn't featured since 22 October because of muscle issues, made the squad for the World Cup fixtures against Switzerland (November 15th) plus Slovenia (18 November)

Additional Premier League Inclusions

  • Spurs midfielder Lucas Bergvall, who is recovering from a head injury
  • Newcastle wide player Anthony Elanga

Both athletes were included in Potter's England-based contingent named by former Brighton, Chelsea and West Ham manager Graham Potter

Potter's Role

Potter was named by Sweden first temporarily on 20 October, less than four weeks after he was dismissed from the Hammers

Previous manager the Danish coach was sacked after the national team's setback against the Kosovan team on 13 October, a result that made automatic qualification from qualifying group out of reach

Current Situation

Sweden sit last place in Group B with just one point from their opening four games

Should they don't manage to secure second place, they may yet be involved in the secondary qualification as a result of their performance in the most recent Nations League
