The Mighty Nein's Introductory Sequence Selected the Incorrect Popular RPG Show Track

This latest animated series, the newest animated adventure by the beloved role-playing group, unveiled an exciting introductory sequence. It features the beloved group of outcasts, misfits, and rogues fighting hard and taking names, while teasing at several agonizing backstories for characters such as the voice actor's wizard Caleb, and Travis Willingham's warlock orc, the character Fjord.

Overall, the intro looks stunning. However, I felt that something was lost in the music selection.

This sequence uses "Welcome to Wildemount", a truly stellar composition composed by producer and singer the talented musician. This piece originating from the soundtrack album of the same name, the second one put out by Critical Role Productions LLC's music division Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a great sentimental choice, and I believe that devotees of the second campaign will appreciate its inclusion.

Personally, The series' opening doesn't quite capture the hype and energy that accompanied the show's live-play sessions. "Your Turn to Roll", written by musician the artist, became an immediate hit for me when it was initially unveiled in 2015, and it improved further when cast member the performer wrote words to the melody for the animated Campaign 2 opening in the later year.

Featuring vocals from Ashley Johnson, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, as well as the writer, the song was catchy and enjoyable. At the time, I hadn't even watched the follow-up series yet, but this was such an earworm that I kept it on my device. This track that knows how to get you pumped before you start an installment of adventurous fun.

The show's intro with "Welcome to Wildemount" fails to hit the same chords for me. It's an impressive composition, but based on my understanding of this party, I feel that its tone is somewhat mismatched.

Naturally, Critical Role has stated that the animated show will have some changes and differences from the original live sessions. A tonal change for its opening seems to be one of them.

The Mighty Nein will be released on Prime Video from Nov. 19. If you can't wait until then, or wish to prepare to learn about the personas of the second series, the actual play are accessible on the audio platform and YouTube.
