Democratic lawmakers have made public a additional set of what they labeled "troubling" images from the estate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The opening batch of 19 images—a portion of which have been previously circulated—plus another 70 unveiled later on Friday account for a minuscule portion of the nearly 100,000 images handed over to the House investigative panel, which is looking into the conduct and connections of Epstein.
The fallen money manager was a victim of apparent suicide in a New York prison cell in 2019 after being charged with sex-trafficking charges.
Featured among the high-profile individuals seen in the opening set are well-known figures including film director Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin empire.
Donald Trump is featured in three of the first nineteen images. In one, he is seen with six women, whose faces are obscured.
The White House addressed the release in a official comment, charging Democrats of purposefully "cherry-picking" the images for political purposes and to "seek to establish a false storyline."
"That partisan falsehood against President Trump has been consistently disproven," a presidential representative stated, maintaining that "the current government has accomplished more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have at any point by repeatedly calling for transparency, releasing thousands of pages of papers, and calling for additional probes into Epstein's Democrat friends."
The photos were released lacking captions, but per a California Democrat and ranking member of the investigative panel, they raise more questions about Epstein's associations with the rich and powerful.
"The moment has come to end this White House cover-up and deliver justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his influential associates," he stated in a statement.
The disclosure of these documents comes as the oversight committee pressing on with its investigation into the Epstein matter.
